Trakošćan Castle was built in the 13th century, and changed a few owners. Over the centuries the owners were the Counts of Celje, commander Jan Vitovac, Ivaniš Korvin and deputy warden Ivan Gyulay. Vice Marshal Juraj V. Draskovic restores derelict castle and surrounding park was turned into a Romanesque. Today the castle is owned by the Croatian Republic, as it contains a museum with a permanent display.
